Coopers, Original Dark Ale Review

I did this on Monday

Brewed to 22L, with:

500g dark DME
500g dark muscovado sugar
500g soft dark brown sugar
approx. 200g golden syrup

Og 1.055

Gonna dry hop (Fuggles) towards end of ferment.

Bottled 8 days ago.....................tested a sneaky one tonight. erm...strong.

I like a bit of variety, but I suspect I shall be doing this one every third batch I liked it so much.

This was also my first attempted kit. I thought it had a nice roast flavour and whilst alternating it with some shop bought beers, realised that mine was better. My dad really enjoyed it and he's a miserable old curmudgeon. I used a Muntons brew enhancer instead of sugar and left in bucket for two weeks. I will definitely be doing this again, with tweaks this time.
