I started a Coopers lager kit last weekend. All seems to be going well. Its the normal starter kit with no extras, just what came in the box

What sort of lager will I end up with? What will it be like, Fosters, XXXX or similar to another famous beer?

I know I can't drink it yet (its come close) but it would be nice to know what it should be like assuming it has all gone well.

I can't imagine for one second that it will stay in the bottles without being tried for two whole weeks. I will get another on the go straight away to give subsequent brews a better chance of ageing.

it probably wont be anything like fossy or XXXX.im sure the yeast that comes with the kit is an ale yeast, real lagers are fermented with a lager yeast and are fermented at low temps.its a decent drink though, hopefully you wont go back to fossies after ur delightful homebrew!

Hi Mate.

Is the the australian lager or the canadian blonde.

The Aussi one is really good...tastes a bit like carlsberg (maybe a little sweeter) but the canadian one is fantastic...difficult to compare to a brand..possibly similiar to coors light.

Either way you'll not want to return to branded beers....I started brew about 4 months ago and haven't bought from an off-license since.

Enjoy (but try to wait the 2 weeks...you'll not regret it!)

Drinking my coopers aussie lager at present, it had a bit of a tang earlier on but 6 weeks in the bottle fine now, just gets better and better.
