Coopers Lager again

Kicked of my first ever beer brew yesterday. It happened to be Coopers Lager. Starting SG is 1040 and as yet there doesn't seem to be much activity. But I'm not panicking yet.

I'll be bottling it into 1 litre PET bottles and my question is this.

Will I need to prime the bottles with a sugar solution? It doesn't say so on the instructions. If I do, how much into each bottle?

I use 500ml bottles and coopers carbonation drops (for the convenience) 1 drop per bottle. Therefore you will need two if using drops which is about 1.5 teaspoons I think of table sugar. I am sure more knowledgeable people can tell you more.
