I've got one of these as my next brew but I've only done 3kg kits prior to this .... instructions recommend 500g dme and 300g dextrose.
My questions are ..

Is dextrose the same as brewing sugar?

and

Would using 800g dme make any improvement?

Yes dextrose is the same as brewing sugar and if you used all dme it would give it more body :thumb:
