Hi,

I am brewing the above, and started the process late last Monday evening.

Had a starting OG of 1.038, and as if today, five days later, it is showing an SG of 1.008 for the second consecutive day at a temp of 22 degrees Celcius.

Is it really ready already, or do I need to get it moving again?

Any advice appreciated thanks.

Paul

My Coopers APA did almost exactly that - done after 5 days. However I left it in the FV for another 7 days, and it cleared down lovely, although the FG didn't change.

I batch primed it in a 2nd FV and bottled it last night, and the little I tasted (apart from being warm and flat!) showed good promise.

ready to go dude. 1.008 is a good FG for a dry beer :) most beers around that abv ferment in a couple of days, especially in this humidity!

That being the case then, I think I'll transfer it into my second FV tomorrow, with a view to bottling on Monday evening, or would there be any benefit in leaving it a little longer before bottling?

If you are only leaving it a couple of days, leave it in the primary - there's less chance of oxidation and no real benefit to shifting to a 2nd for that length of time.

I reckon wait until you are ready to bottle, then transfer over to the 2nd (and batch prime at this point if you want to) then straight into the bottles.
