Anyone tried this?

About to place it in the fermenter. Instructions say to use an enhancer, preferably a Cooper's brand. Unfortunately I don't have any, so sticking to regular Sugar.

Yes, good lager. I did it with brewing sugar and its fine. Definately improves over the period of about a month.

Sounds good. Boiled the sugar in with a couple of litres of water since I didn't have any enhancer.

Hope it's ready in the next week or so. Thanks for the tip. :)

i`ve done a couple coopers lagers - with white sugar and brewing sugar - no real difference - and as grinchy says it is best left for four weeks minimum - the eggy smell it gives off as it ferments can be tasted in the lager up to at least three weeks - get two on!!!!

coopers are IMO the best cheap kits out there - i`m just getting my AG equipment together and i`m gonna brew ales and bitters and i will still brew coopers lager kits!!

The room where the closed fermenter is has a smell of eggs for certain. Shame it tastes of it for few weeks, was hoping to drink it after two weeks.

Tried a bottle of my Coopers European that's been in the bottle for at least 8 weeks. Tastes great, and much better than it did earlier on.

I hid a few bottles and got on with other brews to stop me drinking them sooner!

Tried a small bottle. As said, the taste of eggs is present.

Not as gassy as I'd like, shame. Disolved just over 2oz of sugar in half a pint of water. Added this to the brew just before bottling. :wha:

Not sure what 2oz is in grams.... :wha:

I dissolved 120grams in half a pint and i've got a good fizz.

I'll try that next time round. Thanks for the tip. :)

i use a good heaped teaspoon of sugar per pint bottle - around 5grams i`d say - gives a great fizz - the bubbles tend to get smaller after a good 5 - 6 week conditioning in the bottle (and that eggy taste really does dissapear nearly completley given time!!)

I just bottled 40 lager and 40 coopers bitter! :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink:
