Hi folks,

I picked up a Coopers Canadian Blonde kit at the weekend reduced to £6 so thought I'd give it a try.

It's currently in the fermentation bucket but someone suggested I dry hop it.

I've got a pack of 100g cascade hops, does anyone have any suggestions on how to do it?

Should I just tip them in once the initial fermentation is over?

Yeah you can tip them in up to 7 days before you plan to package/ bottle.. I used too but nowerdays do not bother with a bag.. they drop out after a few days especially if you can chill the fermenter down a bit. How much you add can be down to personal taste.. 100 is a pretty big dry hop, if you have never done it before I am not sure whether that is too much or not.. You will get a mixed response on this

Personally I didn't hop mine the last time and found it to be a very nice brew. I would go with something subtle. maybe 30-40 grams of the cascade or even if you could split the batch do one without and one with.

A hop tea is another option. Put some hops in a cafetiere, 30-50grams probably. Boi the kettle and fill the cafitiere once the kettle has cooled to about 80CIsh. Leave for 30-60 minutes and add to the bottling bucket. Thats how i do it anyway. I prefer this to dry hopping personally. Never split a batch and compared the methods though.
