Shambles. The wife reckons our oven is on the blink, hopefully it will last past Xmas, otherwise it's Turkey cooked in the caravan.A well earned can of Tribute after a dreadful few days...strap yourselves in....
Last Wednesday fridge freezer in the kitchen was making a racket. Phoned British gas homecare...no engineer til Monday! Friday I got home from work and fridge even worse. Fresh stuff felt a big warm so got the brew thermometer out..18c! Binned the lot! Furious now! On to BG...still no one til Monday...Monday comes..fridge knackered, new one required. Monday dinner time delivery for a new one from Currys was Wednesday, Monday teatime...thus is now Dec 27th! Plus how it goes with BG,if it can't be fixed you get a divvy up based on age of appliance,so about £100 towards a new one. Fine..which could take upto 5 days to appear. Not fine. So I decided to knock that palaver on the head and visit a local supplier.
In the meantime Mrs Clint decided she wanted the nice shiny free standing one rather than another integrated. I explained the difference...which involves taking out the integrated cabinet etc and making level the floor as we had not long had the floor tiled and it just cleared the base plinth. Yeah OK then she says...that was me last night...dismantling kitchen cupboards and tiling the floor..which I got done! New fridge freezer being delivered tomorrow. Phew!
As an upside...the much scorned brew fridge in the garage was set to 3c and has enabled us to keep a small supply of fresh stuff handy. It's seen in a different light now.
I’ve been telling my wife this is impossible for years, which is bizarre as she normally doesn’t believe a word of my excuses. In the meantime Mrs Clint decided she wanted the nice shiny free standing one rather than another integrated. Mrs Clint gets things in her head and sooner rather than later it gets revisited.I’ve been telling my wife this is impossible for years, which is bizarre as she normally doesn’t believe a word of my excuses.
Know what you mean, we have integrated Fridge a Freezer, oven and Dishwasher and it was ok back in the day but bending down for everything is now getting hard work on the back now!...to be truthful I'm glad to see the back of the integrated fridge...and not long ago,the washing machine. Just the dishwasher remaining.
Why the name change? When I was in the UK in September I noticed amber ales. I associate amber ales with sweetness.
Amber sounds more trendy. Bitter sounds more beards and jumpers. Why the name change? When I was in the UK in September I noticed amber ales. I associate amber ales with sweetness.

Or flat caps and whippets?Amber sounds more trendy. Bitter sounds more beards and jumpers.
