My first brewing after 10 years of inactivity:

I added 1Kg of sugar. OG was 1034, FG 1004.
Now the hardest part, the waiting...

Hi guys,
D(rink)-day is near. :cheers:
Tomorrow is the 15 day since I bottled my beer.
The bottles stayed all these days in my cellar, at 18-20 °C
What now ? May I just put some in the fridge for some hours and then drink them when they reach the right temperature, or should they spend some days in the fridge ?

Does it look clear at this stage? It should do..I am doing a Coopers Canadian Blonde next month so good luck on yours..
I have the same bin and airlock as you but I have no tap on my fermenting bin..May need to get one
 
This is going to be the next batch I will be making, let us know how it tastes, I'd put a few in the fridge to chill and absorb the co2, but I'd also he tempted to just try one from the cellar :thumb:

Yep, it's clear and yesterday I tried it after 3 hours in the fridge. I'm very happy, it has a nice froth and a refreshing bitter taste :cheers:

BTW I found out my tap was broken when I checked the kit after all these years, and I bought a new one, it's just 2.5€.

I tried it, it's good ! It's light and bitter, with a nice froth !!! :cheers:
I was so happy with the result I already started another brewing today, a Mexican Cerveza !!!

that looks promising..nice and drinkable..well done :party:
 
Did you batch prime this ale or did you add primer individually to each bottle? I'm going to guess that you batch primed it from your photos... How much priming sugar did you use for your batch?? Did you make a full 25 litres?

It does look impressively good in that glass with a good head!

I've heard someone say before that the Coopers Mexican Cerveza uses a larger yeast and not an ale yeast so needs the first fermentation to be at a lower temp of 13-14 degrees?? Not 100% sure on this as I'm a first time brewer but could be worth a google!

Hi Neil,
I primed each bottle using the spoons I found in my kit.
I don't know about Coopers' Mexican, my ongoing batch is a Muntons Mexican Cerveza, and there were no special instructions about the temperature.
I started it on 25th May and it went from OG 1036 to FG 1006, I think tomorrow I'll bottle it !
