Hi all,
just getting all the bits together to start using sankey kegs. I've ordered 3/8" beer line and john guest fittings, just wondering wether you need to use inserts in the pipe like you do when using the plastic plumbing pipe?. I've not seen any mention of using inserts on the net, is the beer line sufficiently rigid not to need them? If they are required what size are they, I know the pipe is 3/8" O.D but not sure about the I.D, if I need to get inserts

thanks in advance

No, you don't need inserts. This type of tubing is rigid enough not to get any issues. Ideally, you'd cut the beer line with a JG pipe cutter or similar. I was planning to fit collets, to make them tamper proof, but didn't get round to it. No problems after 3 years of use.

Thanks for that, I just checked the john guest site and there is no mention of needing inserts.. Coming from the the building trade where inserts are used in plastic plumbing pipe I assumed that beer line would be similiar
