I made myself a chiller from 10mm copper pipe a while ago and it has worked fine until the 10mm hose I had jammed over it split. I tried using 12mm hose with a hose clip but that didn't work. Has anybody got a simple way to do this?

Hozelock connectors? You can get different adapters that hook onto a kitchen tap and have a male Hozelock end, which is what I use in conjunction with female Hozelock connectors on various lengths of hose for different purposes. I.e. if you have a hose secured OK to your chiller with a clip, stick a female Hozelock on the other end and get an adapter for the tap.

I may have misunderstood the question...

The problem is that normal 12/15mm hose won’t seal on the 10mm pipe, even with clip and 10mm pipe won’t fit into a hozelock fitting.

Ten to 15mm compression reducder then unscrew the 15mm nut and screw on a hozelock quick connect

A bit like this

I'm glad you asked this grealish, I had been meaning to ask but kept forgetting lol

I had a disaster with gushing water over my newly cooled wort using my chiller a few weeks ago

Buy one of those flexible braided hose connectors that has the right thread size for a male hoselock connector. Cut the braided hose in half, the hose inside fits perfectly over the 10mm copper pipe. Secure with clips.

Compression fittings work well as pictured above, but it's important you get good quality fittings and plenty PTFE.

I fitted ***** stainless Chinese stud compression fittings to my chiller and wish I hadn't bothered. There was nothing wrong with my lengths of hoses and butterfly clamps, they never leaked but my compression fittings do.
