Confused

Hi,

I am into my 8th day ofbrewing better brew Czech pilsner. I have just checked the gravity which is at 1012 so it's not far off. I have noticed that my brew has gone from 23 to 22 litres.

Is this normal?

I am half thinking I didn't fill it upto 23l now

Im assuming you have checked your floor isn't wet :p

If you are looking at the scale on your fv from an angle e.g. its on the floor and you're stood up it could just be parallax error?

Either way I wouldn't worry, lots of people brew kits short deliberately to enhance the flavour and strength.

I'm not concerned about it to be honest. If anything I might turn out a bit stronger and like you say enhance the flavour. Just confused me. It smells delicious so far.

Volume loss during fermentation is usual... all that krausen protein and co2 came from somewhere...will drop more as it cools too.
