Just under a week ago I took my bottled Wherry out of the house and placed in the garage to clear and conition.

The forecast for the next few nights is a very cold -7 here in deepest Oxfordshire, should I consider putting the ale in a slightly less cold place? It's not going to freeze in the garage but it will be somewhat colder than it has been of late, or does the cold actually help to condition the beer?

should be ok just stick a blanket round em to make sure they don't freeze in case they break

Yes. I was thinking about doing that, they're currently in boxes but an extra layer of insulation might be a good idea.

Was going to ask the same question, but mine is in a keg?

if its a plastic 1 i'd bring it in as below freezing they risk splitting , a room with radiator switched off in this weather will be cold enough

They may suffer from chill haze too, so warm them up to room temperature before drinking so they're clear.

Terry.

I've now wrapped a blanket around the boxes, so hopefully they'll be ok, incidently I did check one of the few clear glass bottles and the beer was rather hazy/cloudy, more so than when I first put them in the garage about a week ago, so I think they're already suffering a bit from chill haze. :?: Hopefully the very cold weather will not affect the end product.
