Hi all, a lot/most of what I'm brewing is sour beer that spends a fair old while in glass carboys with airlock. At the moment I'm 100% bottle conditioning (but likely to go corny at some point).

I'd like to be able to purge the headspace of my FV with CO2 when I check gravity readings to reduce the risk of filthy dirty acetobacter taking hold. I'd rather not have to shell out ££££ if I'm only likely to use it to blast air out of a few litres worth of dead space. Google suggests people using soda stream CO2 and other budget tips, but no practical guidance for idiots like me :)

Any tips, tricks and/or links to Idiot's Guides... would be much appreciated

Thanks!

Rig up something like this ...

Sodastream1 (1).jpg

An adaptor ...

... a simple pressure regulator ...

... and a length of hose. Bingo!

PS

Make sure the adaptor and regulator fit each other!

Thanks for the link @peebee. Looks like a really useful guide

Thanks for that @Dutto. That's the kind of setups was imagining. Really useful to link to the parts too (I get lost in the myriad of options available!)
