Hi there,

i have all the setup for dispensing my home brew. recently purchased a single co2 regulator Just wondering what the basics are as no instructions were included. It has two guages, one that reads 0-250PSI so this is obviously to tell me the pressure.

Just need to know the basics
e.g.
- what is the screw in the middle for.
- when carbonating, should the gas be left on or is one blast of 30PSI enought until the reg says otherwise?

Sorry if any of these questions seem a bit silly, but all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Kris

The screw in the middle is to allow you to adjust to the psi you want. I carbonate for ~36 hours at 30psi. I turn the screw to get to 30psi and then I leave the regulator wide open at 30psi for the next 36 hours. At that point, I purge the keg and hook it up to my kegerator which dispenses at about 7 or 8 psi.

You could also just set the regulator to 10psi or whatever you want and leave it that way for a week. It will carb just fine, albeit a bit more slowly. I'm just not patient enough for that!
