As the title says I need gas bad all three cylinders are now empty and waverley no longer supply gas!  :(

any ideas? Thought about a trip to guildford tomorrow or but will ring Thameside fire protection Basildon first.

Anyone around with a secret supplier that wants to help out?

I have beer in my kegs I cannot drink! This is a garage emergency!

We used this firm at work for our fire protection needs. Found them to be reliable and friendly

Thanks

Give this place a try. New gases ltd. 01473 630922. They are in Martlesham near Ipswich.
I spoke to a bloke who said they did such a thing but i'd have to wait for the boss to call me back. They didn't call and i haven't followed it up because i'm promised a bottle from a work mate whose grandad owns a pub.
If you try them, let us know how you get on. :thumb:

Don't know if its worth a try but BOC have a large depot in Ipswich, our oxygen at work comes from there.

Sorry if I'm sounding a bit naieve but I'm struggling to understand why people are having so much trouble obtaining cellar gasses, (seen other posts on this problem too). :wha: I live in a fairly small rural coastal town and just ten mins down the road we have a drinks distributor who deals in gasses and another cellar gas retailer a few hundred yards away on the same industrial estate, perhaps we are lucky or something. My local pub has his gas delivered with his Fosters and John Smiths but if he needs any more he has an account with our local supplier as a backup.
Quiz your local publicans.

I get mine from a local club now, £17 all in. I let them know when and they put the order on their list, done.

I managed to get gas in the end from Adams Gas reseller in Kings Lynn as I was up that way for the weekend anyway.

I found a Adams Gas reseller in Essex: Senetor Welding 0845 5197639 in West Thurrock whom will deliver to Colchester and swap out my bottles. Speak to Tim there. He will order them on demand which takes about a fortnight, but if he gets a few more of us he will keep them on the shelf.

I realise this is dragging up an old thread, but... I'm getting a couple of cornies and am looking to source Co2 bottle. I'm in Colchester. Has teh situation changed in the last 8 years. I'd like to avoid the monthly rentals if possible? I found BoC supply and can deliver, but don't fancy paying £7+ a month for a bottle rental. Any advice would be great :) Cheers.

Adams Gas. Go to the website and search for a supplier near you. You should find MBA near Bury St. Edmunds. The first order includes one-off deposit then after that it's 20 quid for an exchange. It's a short drive from where you are.

The website will take your order then you should get an invoice from Marc at MBA. If you don't hear from him in a few days give him a call because his spam filter seems to catch orders from Adams sent to him!

I use Hobbyweld. They have a branch in Colchester although I use their branch in Hertford.

Cheers. I'll have a look at those and see what works out. Thanks for the replies. Just got 4 cornies off my bro, so keen as mustard to get one filled with a stout that's ready to bottle. Save me some time. More lessons to learn (mistakes to make...)

Hobbyweld for me Rochford branch. Not the cheapest.
I'm refilling sodastream bottles on the basis that if you've got a leak then max loss is 3 to 400g of gas rather than a whole bottle.

Just moved to Tiptree and I’m now in the same boat as you. I have a cylinder but getting a company to refill it is unlikely. Looks like I’ll need to bite the bullet and pay a deposit on a new one.

Who did you go with in the end and what price?

Cheers,

Sam

I went with Adams gas. Ordered through their website and. Like yes from senator welding in west Thurrock.

Great service from Michael at senator. Next time I just have to email him to make sure it’s in stock and then go and swap the tanks over.
