Tesco have a new range of 1 litre 100% apple/raspberry "never from concentrate" juice that comes in bottles, i have just noticed that it looks very cloudy in the bottle, has anyone used these juices, did it clear, will i end up with cloudy wine?
 
I've not used the apple and raspberry, but I did try a turbo cider from a cloudy apple juice range and it wouldn't clear even after adding a fining agent. Also I found the Mojito that comes in bottles was cloudy and tasted awful.
 
Often, the cloudiness is produced by heat treatment, and is there just because cloudiness is trendy. It's not pectin or starch or... It's little lumps of apple solids deliberately made stable enough to resist almost anything. You won't get rid of it, except maybe by filtering.
 
Hi folks, not trying to hijack this thread , but on the subject of cloudy, I added some finings to a gallon of strawberry wine that I am making at the moment. It has finished working so I stabilised it and added the finings a couple of days later. It has been about a week since and it hasn't cleared at all.
2 things comes to mind, maybe I didn't degas it sufficently and that is causing the problem and if so can I try to degas it again now and try adding finings once again or will that stuff it completely. It tastes reasonably good so if I there is a risk of stuffing it up I will just have to drink with the lights off.
Your input is greatly appreciated.

I've found strawb needs a pretty high dose of pectolase. I did one that tried to turn into jam, even while it was fermenting!
 
You just need more if it's added after instead of before fermentation, so 2tsp/gallon.
It may not work, but it can't hurt!
