Is it worth using a clarifier or anything in beer? I'm currently waiting for my beer to settle out ready to keg, but can a decent clearing agent actually speed up the process? I wouldn't mind getting this in there as soon as possible and I work opposite the home brew store, so it's no biggie to pick something up and stir it in :)

I tend to use a single sheet of dissolved leaf gelatine in my brews, added 24-48 hours before kegging or bottling. The main effect this has is to help to settle the trub in the FV so there is less chance of drawing it up.
Another popular method of clearing beer before kegging, assuming you have the fridge space, is to crash cool the FV to a couple of °C for a day or so.
