Christmas beer swap

I see in other threads forum member's starting to brew beers that will be ready for Christmas. @strange-steve normally sorts the Christmas beer swap. It's one part of the forum that I personally really enjoy.
Hopefully Steve returns but it doesn't look likely. Would anyone consider stepping in if needed and organising it. If not I will try my best and organise it if it's agreed with the rest of the forum members that take part.

I know it's only September but what's everyone else's thought's

Why not drop him a message? The Christmas swap is one of the many great things I love about the forum too.
My first thought was better get the brew done. My second was that I’m sure it’ll happen in one form or another, and I’d hoped Steve would be back for it.

He's not on the forum and hasn't been for some time. Not sure why but hopefully it's not discussed on this thread. Like everyone else I hope he returns but in the meantime we might need a plan B

Maybe whoever feels up to picking up the baton could PM @strange-steve and ask him to PM a breakdown of his method and flag up the pitfalls that one can run into. If I remember right, it wasn't a question collecting and redistributing the bottles, rather compiling a list of those interested and telling them who to send their beer to.

Compiling the list is relatively easy. I’m on a mid week Dublin stopover and I’ve knocked up a working Excel spread sheet on the iPad between pints number 3 and 4. I suspect the real hassle is the time taken to send out messages and coordinate swaps, etc.
I’ll share the spreadsheet with anyone who wants to take it on. If there are no more deserving volunteers than I’m happy to give it a go this year.

The spreadsheet has benefited from a debug after sobering up, now flags up clashes and can cope with a mix of one and two bottle swappers. Look out for an announcement after Halloween. I’ll try not to mess it up for everybody
