Ryan, was this the one in the "England" micro keg on the paste tables?

Yeah there were 2. 1 was old speckled chicken and the other was the Stout

I had a cheeky taste of it along with either Joe or Chris (can't remember!) and we both said "Terry's Chocolate Orange" !! That was before we read the label on the top.

So from my point of view and Joe or Chris's (!) it was both choclatey and orangey!! :thumb: :D

really? ive just opened another keg at home and got SWMBO to try it and she cant taste the flavour either. In fact her response was to be sick

glad to see someone else tried it though and that you thought it tasted like it.Maybe you have much better tastebuds than me

yeah i had to taste this when it was pointed out to me by Jeltz - made one before myself, that turned into a complete disaster! too much cocoa floating about.

it was really nice, a great combination of drinkable and weird flavours, but subtle enough to be a drinkable pint and not a novelty, and I think that's the trick with a beer like this. had a Choc Truffle Stout in london and it tasted intensely of chocolate truffles, but half a pint was way too much. the amarillo adds a little orange flavour too I think!

what abv did it rack up in the end? overall a smashing pint, I wouldn't kick it out of bed for farting. one to be proud of mate!

Harsh!!

It was nicely drinkable.... subtle choc and orange that was definitely there to be tasted. As Rob says it wasnt in your face which made it more quaffable. :thumb:

Wow im amazed at the response guys. Its a drinkable stout but honestly didnt think it was any good if im honest.

It came out at 4.7%. I think ill brew another one but use more hops for aroma, hopefully then I enter it into next years competion :D

If anyone tried it id love the feedback good or bad :)

I seem to remember bad head retention probably due to oils in the cocoa or orange peel...you can buy proper bitter orange peel if you wanted to increase the quality for competition purposes. For head, add some oats or wheat.
