I have a lovely little timer for my brews from the cooking range at local supermarket. Small and compact and counts down the hours and minutes with alarms that can be set...and it cost me a £1
Only problem it has is that if I leave the battery inserted, the timer is left on there's no off switch, thereby running the battery down while its in its box between brews. I am in the habit of removing the battery between brews, but its a small tiddly little battery and at some point I know its going to get lost.
Does any one know of a DIGITAL Timer, cheap and effective that has an on/off button ?

I knew someone would say that.... I'm one of those peeps that have a mobile phone.................somewhere.....

I use it to make a call when necessary when I'm out and about, otherwise I never know where it is........ :D

I don't like phones.

Are you sure you'll need to replace the battery any time soon? I have an Ikea timer that has lasted on its original battery for many years and is still going strong despite not having an off switch.

:thumb: that's good to know I'll leave the battery in...thanks

Same here - I've got an inside/outside thermometer that runs on two AG4 watch batteries, and I suppose I replace them once every 18 months or so. Also, pound shops tend to do cards of about 25 watch batteries (and I've always got on ok with them) so it isn't going to cost an arm to replace them.
