Thanks to the forum members here for advice in my many other threads :oops: , i have now bought..

30m x 16mm ID reinforced PVC hose
25m x 10mm ID copper microbore

What sort of fittings will i need to make this into a CFC, i like the idea of having it all boxed in and then quick disconnects to connect everything up, like i said, not sure what fittings are needed and which might need to be SS or brass even...i am thinking that the water will be hoselock connections which i hope to be able to connect to a static 200ltr water butt and pump or tap as well.

You'll need some t piece reducers like these to get the two seperated

You need a 15mm x 10mm x 10mm in the same configuration

So the hose attaches to the 15mm end you need to then file out a little ridge in the opposite end of the 10mm section to allow your 10mm bore pipe to pass through from the 15mm hole and out of the 10 mm hole. Do this on both ends of the hose and then all you need is to connect up which ever disconnects you like to the piping and fit it in a box of sorts.

Here's is how I did it. Many ways to skin this cat, but this has worked fine for me...

From left to right...

15mm copper pipe, which the outer house fits over, and is secured with a jubilee clip. This connects to...
A 15mm brass tee. The coolant, which flows through the outer hose, enters/exits from the top. To the right...
A 1/2" BSP barrel (remove the compression nut and olive from the tee to fit this - it screws on). Screwed into this...
A 15mm to 8mm (10mm in your case) compression adaptor. Again, remove the 15mm compression nut and just screw into the barrel. You can see the 8mm pipe exiting from this. NOTE : you have to drill out the internals of this adaptor so you can slide the inner pipe all the way through. Use a drill and an 8mm bit to do this. Brass is soft, so it is easy to drill.
You could stop now, but I have another 15mm to 8mm adaptor to step this back up to 15mm pipe, so I can easily attach some hose.

I just slide hose over the various 15mm pipe inlets/outlets, but you could box it all in and connect this pipes to external fittings.

I dont expect instant answers and besides, it was a late evening post and i do ask a lot of questions... more than once quite possibly :roll: but im sure the wise ones on here were in the same boat once upon a time, i get lots of good advice on here and you can include yours in that as well :clap: :clap: . I see how that pieces works, i assume i solder the tee and 10mm bore once i have it through...are there quick disconnects that will fit to 10mm bore ?

I LOVE YOU :hat: ...well it is valentines day as well !!...

Why do you step the wort inlet up to 15mm ? and if you needed to why not have that step on the hose your connecting to it to reduce the size...i fully understand how it works now thanks to your picture and explanation...but...that is a long **** connection you got there !!!..not sure how i would have that mounted inside a box, there would have to be an angled bend somewhere ??

Thanks for the reminder! Should be able to score some brownie points with the missus now...

I stepped it up to 15mm because that suits the hose that I have in the brewery. It certainly does add a lot of length for not much gain! If I was boxing it in I wouldn't do this, but I just have the CFC laying around loose, so it works ok for me. I'm sure you can come up with a tidier solution :)
