I was joshin'. As a side-note, the US includes those citizens who are expatriated.

Ours includes someone who might be living here on a temporary basis.

I'm pretty sure ours does too... But the US census would include US citizens living outside the country.

I wouldn't actually expect my wife to get one dinner she now holds 'dual' citizen status.

COVID *really* screwed up our census last year. Considering state/federal funding & the congressional makeup depends on accurate reporting.... I can see much media posturing because of it.

Census are a great primary source for (future) historians.

The 1911 census has great info on the UK before WW1.

Of course the subsequent census show the scars of both the War and the Spainish Flu pandemic on society.

The Suffragette movement also used the 1911 census as a political weapon. They put their occupation as 'Suffragette' in the apropiate box.
As the place you resided on the night of census was recorded as your home some Suffragettes tried to stow themselves elsewhere.
Emily Davison (the one who died during the protest at the Derby) hid out for 48 hours in the House of Parliament, so she could record her address as 'Westminister.'

I forget if it was the 1911 or 1921 census which showed there was a considerable carribean population in the UK (well before Windrush).
On another historical note, the census of 1921 was delayed in the UK due to industrial unrest, while it was cancelled in Ireland due to the Irish War of Independence.

The monarch has to complete a census like everyone else.

The 1851 census for Buckingham Palace lists Victoria. She put her occupation down as “Queen”

Albert though was listed as the “Head of the Household”.

I’ve got a part-time job as a Census Officer, so from tomorrow, I’ll be knocking on doors, trying to persuade those households that haven’t submitted yet to complete it.

Just take them a couple bottles of your beer - it worked for me
