hi folks i have a carrot whisky in a stainless steel pan been bubling away for 2 weeks now when should i swap it to a dj and how often should i feed it sugar and how much ? this is the 4th batch now 1st batch is bottled tastes good, cristal clear, but a bit weak

What's your recipe and method?

I would strain to DJ after 2-3 weeks and feed with about 100g or 4oz sugar whenever the SG has dropped to 1.000, that way you should never be left with an oversweet wine when the yeasties decide to quit.

thanks moley
my recipe and method is a bit home made but simple
2 lb grated carrots
1 cup chopped raisins
2 oranges
2 lemons
1 cup strong tea
1kg sugar
nutrient
muntons gervin yeast
pectolase
method-carrots raisins and sugar in a large pan, 2 lts boiling water leave for 1 hour, top up to 1gall.
add rest of ingredients, check temp then yeast.
boil a cotton cloth place on pan, cover with a lid. -warm place
stir daily for first week, when the fighting stops, transfer to a dj and top up to 1 gall.
cheap and easy, a bit like me! used the same yeast culture 4 times now, also with your advice playing with final gravity as we speak :thumb:
