Hi
if i brew a kit beer (mangrove Jacks simcoe ipa) in a fermentasaurus and transfer to bottles do i still have to use carbonation drops ?

I batch prime in a Bottling Bucket. I mix 120g of brewing sugar with 400ml of hot water. Mix until dissolved and add to Bottling Bucket. Then transfer the beer over, very gentle stir, then bottle. 120g of brewing sugar is perfect for an IPA and cheeper than drops.

I have just done exactly this with the same kit.
I bottle using a beer gun that allows the bottles to be purged prior to filling.
I did 5 with no card drop as an experiment for an ale. The rest I used 1 carb drop/500ml bottle.
I also did the following:-
Crashed the temp to 4C and the dropped the pressure to just above zero. Left for 4 days. Then warmed the fridge back up to 15c maintaining the pressure at just above zero. I was trying to replicate as much as I could fermentation in a bucket with low dissolved CO2.
It worked a treat. The ones without carb drop where perfect for ale and the rest with 1 carb drop where perfect for an IPA.

Hope this helps.
