im currently brewing a wilko's golden lager. today i went to do a second gravity reading and found that the lager already had some carbonation occurring, and the hydrometer just kept rising because of this, so i couldn't take a reading.

is this normal? does this mean it is ready to bottle?

Also, next i'm looking at trying to make a ginger and chilli flat cider. i'm not doing this from a kit however it's a simple recipe. :thumb:
i was thinking about adding the ginger at the start of fermentation and a tiny amount of chilli at the end a few days before bottling. any advice?
