Just sampled my first batch of Coopers English Bitter and it is very flat out of the bottle.

In the FV for 10 days and it was almost clear, bottled 7 days ago and ran out of shop brought beer so thought I'd try a sample. I know I shop leave for 2 week warm conditioning. However, I'm concerned that there is very little sediment and that would seem to indicate little yeast action to form CO2.

Will this get better, I bottled with one carbonation drop per 500ml bottle.

On a good note the beer tastes very much like Spitfire and is very pleasant but could do with a bit of fizz or head.

After bottling it will need 7-14 days in the warm, followed by at least 7 days in the cold. The warm period is to generate the CO2 and the cold period is for it to be absorbed by the beer.

Thanks, that was my intention but my wife drank both my Hopping Hare's last night and doesn't like bitter.

Got some Fixby Gold in the FV now so hopefully there will be something for both of us.

Must admit I was expecting more sediment or a cloudier beer from a kit.
