I know this is the wrong forum :D , but one of you guys may know the answer to this...

I went into the back of someone last month, and I told the lady "I'll pay for any damages, dont bother going through the insurance". She agreed and we went our seperate ways.

I was always under the impression that as long as I paid for the damages - legally that's all I need to do. Can they really force me to go through the insurance company? I dont want to lose my 3 years no claims

ARRGHH!
Same thing happened to my mate at work, he had a slight bump with someone and agreed to pay for the damage, 1 month later he was hit with the insurance and no proof he'd paid them for the damage.
I told him at the time to go through the insurance but he didn't.

= £2,000 - £3,000

That was ALL I got for a motorbike accident where the guy pulled out in front of me causing me to go for flying lessons

And that was after TWO years of insurance wrangling where my insurance company treated it as MY FAULT and wiped my ncb.

Also this year went to re-insure the bike after being off road for a couple of years and was told my 4 years NCB was invalid and I only had 2 now, due to a claim AFTER I had received the ncb notice. And a claim I have no knowledge of (apparently a HEAD ON accident on my bike :ugeek: how could I forget that?), my previous insurance company will not give me any details so I have to now re-build my ncb again.

Any one else notice that the Spammer resurrected a two year old post

Mine has gone up by 200 quid this year . . . My only accident (my fault) was in 2008 . . . and it didn't go up after that. . . . Time to look for a new provider :hmm:

Mine was the same Tony, went up by £180.00, and being from Yorkie land that was a NO-NO.

It's wise to look around each year, they play on the fact you will just renew. Swapped to Direct line from Admiral, big saving.

I also avoid sites with opera singers and meerkats as the bloody adverts drive me craze.

I'm with direct line, my insurance went up 50 quid this year, I was gutted so I shopped around. The closest quote I could find was 200 quid more than direct Line. I think ill stick with my 250 a year for now.

Protecting your NCB counts for nothing these days. Even if it's protected, if you have an accident, fault or non fault, it WILL affect your premium price the following year.
I found this out the hard way and ever since I've not protected my bonus...robbing gets

And why is it you can only have 5 years max NCB, even when you've driven claim free for 17 years

Have to agree with this one, I had my car pranged by a young guy while it was parked, went through insurance and on renewal my insurance, (I stayed with the same company), actually went DOWN by £10  so yes it WILL affect your premium :? :!:

Cheers mate - You could have saved me over 300 quid . . . . from the same provider  Ok anyone want to tell me how that one works out :hmm:

I forgot to state on earlier post that the premium for my 306 I use for work was cheaper on fully comp than third party fire and theft......... :wha:
I clicked on fully comp by accident and couldn't believe/understand why it was £100.00 cheaper.

Years ago it was.....
1. Third Party (cheapest)
2.Third party fire and theft
3.Fully comp (Expensive)

Little pud
