Can we be a little more accepting of our differences?

You’re right, it is very well run. In fact, I almost quit the forum when someone made a personally insulting comment on one of my posts but the admin stepped in and removed it.

And I’m glad that I didn’t leave. There’s a ton of advice available here and I’ve been given some great tips. So I like to share my experiences as well.

I do watch brewtubers and read lots of brewing articles but there’s nothing quite like chatting with someone who’s had to tip a few brews down the pan who now knows the things “not” to do!

Thanks for posting @johncrobinson and @fgoulding the mod team will appreciate the positive feedback.

We try to be as hands off as we can but do clamp down when things turn personal fortunately most members see eye to eye so we rarely need to get involved.

The Snug is where most of the bad stuff happens and in the past members who have been on the receiving end have asked for it to be closed but i for one think its an asset giving members a place to discuss things non brewing related.

Just to remind anyone who doesn't know that it's easy to ignore the snug - just go to the forums list and select the option.

The content of the snug is for the most part a bit of light hearted fun and banter, and your own contribution is much appreciated athumb..
I would not like to see it closed because of a few "bad apples". . . . . . . Please note the language of restraint 🤐

Cheers Chippy, Baron, SLID and Covrich plus all the others.

Many thank, John, incidentally Slid is not an acronym, but a weak anagram of "Sild". I lived initially with SWMBO back in Glossop for while and used to like oily tinned fish in tomato goo titled "Sild" on toast. So, one day we are going out in the evening, but as a keen marathon runner back in the day, I was hungry most of the time - running 100 miles a week does that. So, I open the can of Sild and flick a great load of this tomatoey-oily goo down the front of my shirt.

SWMBO still had some sort of sense of humour at that time and finds this hilarious - "He's Slidded", she laughs, or screams. "He's just 'The Slid'".
