I'm planning on bottling a Belgian dark strong at the weekend which I've been batch conditioning for a couple of months.
I'm aiming for a high carbonation of around 3 volumes of CO2 so I need some bottles I can depend on.
I have about 40-50 Duvel bottles which I'm confident in, for obvious reasons. However, I will need to use 10 or so of another type to use up the batch. I want to keep it in 330ml bottles given it's a 10% brew. I've only got one other design of 330ml bottles which I actually got as part of the same job lot as the Duvel bottles and were kept in Chimay crates which leads me to hope they're of Belgian origin. However, they're a fair bit lighter and seem thinner than the Duvel bottles and they also have a moulding seam down each side. I won't use them at all if it's going to lead to exploding bottles.
Does anyone know the origin of the bottles in the below photos? They have a fairly distinctive shape. The shoulders of the bottle don't pinch in to the neck and it's more of a continuous curve. There are also some distinctive concentric circles on the base.
Any tips gratefully received.
