Hi im just after a little advice im brewing from a kit i usually use bottled water but decided to try using campden tablets in tap water to get rid of the chlorine but im not sure whens best to use them before i start or after the obvious thing would be to add the tablet to the fermenter at the start but will this harm the yeast or anything?
Thanks bradley

Before you start, I tend to treat my water the night before

Add the campden before you start. Crush, add to water, give a good stir, allow 10 or 15 mins for the reaction then it's ready to use.

Well before reading any of these i risked it but i may of made an error i crushed one up and dissolved it in a little water then added it to the fermenting bucket after id topped it up left it an hour then added the yeast.

Yeh not sure what that would do but remember that it's the water you are treating rather than the wort

Chuffer is correct though I don't think you've done any harm, I'm sure the campden will still work.

Yeah i see that now but it is fermenting so thats a start ill let you know how it goes
