campden tablets - after reading that they are used for wine and cider making is it common practice to use them in beer making to halt fermentation and keep it a bit sweeter.
 
No, there are better ways to leave a bit of sweetness. I personally dont like to add anything if not neccessary and always bottle condition at least some of my beers so wouldnt want the yeast to stop working.
 
No, because there are non-fermentable sugars in beers, so they won't ferment out to dryness like wines.
