Chaps and Chappesses,
A quick plug for The Scottish Craft Brewers and Edina Homebrew of Edinburgh if I may.
With all the talk recently of where to buy your grain from, Davey at Edina pointed out something rather wonderful to me...
If you are a member of the Scottish Craft Brewers (£8 a year) not only does Edina give you 10% off your purchases in the shop and their online store, but when it comes to grains it's a belter :
25KG of grain - your choice of how that's made up - and so long as it's not 'speciality' grains - for ballpark £25 (if you're an SCB member) :
So no requirement to by a 25 KG sack of maris otter and then a load of other stuff on top of that, but doing it this way cuts down the amount of pale malt you need to store - it takes a while, for me anyway, to get through a 25KG sack so next time I reckon I could go for 15kg of pale, and a mix of various others to make up the other 10kg - awsome!!
It's a great deal - I think anyway!!!
