Hi All, I am sure this has been asked a thousand times but i cant find a definitive answer.
I will be racking off a brew into a secondary before bottling, this bucket has a scale on the side to let me know how much beer i have.
I need to know how much sugar to use for bulk priming, per litre of beer.
I will be using white sugar cause that`s what i`ve got, and as far can find, i want 8g per litre.
So that`s the question, does 8g per litre sound right.
Thank you,
Bob

Well that would be about 3.5g per ltr.
Got a short brew to bottle and will only know the amount when i rack it into the bottling bucket.
Thats why i was looking for an amount per Ltr, and if 80g for 23ltr works then 3.5g a ltr it is.
Thanks guys,
Cheers and Beers,
Bob

Well, surely this just depends on how fizzy you want your beer?

8g per litre will be fizzy, 3.5 ltr will be less fizzy.

Yup, I would have to agree with that. :thumb: I only make Ale so the 4g figure seems fine for me.
The 8g i quoted in the first post came from the Coopers website but i thought it sounded a bit much.
I have bulk primed 13.5ltr with 52g of white sugar tonight, time will tell.
Thanks for all the replies so far.

Yes, 8g would be quite a lot if it was a standard ale you were doing, that would be more suited to lager, wheat beer, or some Belgian beer.

As much as i have had good experiences with the coopers kits, i think their instructions are rubbish!
