Good on you alawlor, any size is good, 12x8 is a decent size too, you putting up a thread too?
Should be able to make a start by end of month, but weathers not looking too good though, will post some pictures in a week or so of what i have upto yet, everyone at work now knows what i am doing, and want an invite as well!

Aye once I start sourcing materials and can get a good run at it I'll put a thread with pics up, well I need to wait and see if the council say I can, but I can't see why they would refuse it since the space I'm putting it in already has 2 sheds (which will be demolished) taking up just over the 12x8 I intend to use.
I doubt I'll be starting mine till the summer though.

Just been work and collected all the pallets both wood and plastic, also bought all the boards i had put aside, they are notice boards, but made of MDF, so will be used upside down on the floor, also got hold of 2 cable reels for tables.
The white rolls are self adhesive white paper, which i intend to use on the walls, so as to cover the wood, making the gaps joined smooth, and easier to paint or paper over compared to wood!
Also, have got a load of electric cabling for the sockets and lights, sockets i picked up last week form there, 15 of. Managed to also get hold of a door too.

Work is starting in a weeks time or so!

Have been looking on different roofing options on the net, covering that is.
I was looking at felt, but the trouble with that, it need replacing nearly every year, and tears very easy, on the little shed i have, i have used black pallet slip sheets for the roof, these buggers dont rot, very sturdy, basically install and forget, but they tend to bubble in the sun......so, have been emailing a plastics firm down south.

They have recommended me using a UV Polyester Reinforced Tarp - 550gsm, which at 17ft by 15ft is priced at £120 plus £5 delivery.

Should do the job i reckon, i'll obviously batten it down, but whats the general opinion from you guys please!
Thanks

Hi, as a waterproofing specialist i personally would use a spray applied liquid polyurethane but for you the cost would be prohibitive.I also used to lay flat roof felt sheeting & applied properly as a 3 layer felt system bonded with bitumen between layers is a proper job & should be looking at 15+ years from this type of system, but again there are costs attached for tradesmen. Why dont you consider bitumen emulsion type solutions which are applied then the felt rolled into the solution creating a good bond & also you dont have to put battens or the like on,which create weak spots. The option you suggest would work for a while i think but not for long term. The roof of any building takes the brunt of the weather cycle & the best weatherproofing you can afford/install will pay dividends, but i know it all comes down to funds at the end of the day.If you have problems along the way just shout & i'll try to help ya. Ken.

Thanks ken, will look into bitumen, tarp is not final, just an option at mo!!

Found some bitumen sheeting 6ft by 35.5", at £12 per sheet, thats looking a better option at mo!!

Ok, have to call it a day, bit of a hurt back, i was lifting a 5ft by 3ft pallet in the air, and a gust of wind took it and me, i lost me footing and fell with it on me!! lol
Nothing serious, good hot bath will sort it, anyways its spitting of rain, so got enough done for today as got to go shopping soon! :(

Right, the black plastic pallets, these are the base, not all of them down at this point, some more levelling of round the edges to finalize, but all is well at the moment!

I forgot to take a picture with the wooden pallets on top of the black ones, anyways, heres a picture of me calling it a day, and covering the base loosely with some blue plastic from work, this stuff will be screwed on top of the pallets when i next go out, creating a barrier under the floorboarding.

So, to me , it looks a bloody big base, perhaps too big!!!!
What do you think?

Update:

Ok i have braced the pallets together at the base, i have then started the walls, at the moment, these are held up with braces on the fronts, as the drill bit is in the car (she's out), anyways, i will drill them into the base tommorow to make secure.

One thing that has dawned and that is just how big the shed's gonna be, i won't run out of room for a bit!!!

Been out this morning, started coach bolting the pallets together, doing so has made them very secure, only problem is i am doing it all by hand, but after doing 5, i was getting fed up as i have a limited space for the ratchet, so popped to screwfix to get an attachment for the drill to use sockets!!

Have also bought some threaded rods, so to make the corners more secure!
Can start to get more done now this week!
Thanks

Been out this morning, 50% of the first row of pallets are coach bolted to the floor ones, have done the other side of the shed with the first row, leaving room for the door frame to be made.

I have also started to put the second row in the corner, very stable at the moment!
Few issues have crept up, but working on it, but it is a shed made with pallets ain't it!!

New picture!

Loving this thread. Don't post much on here these days but I'm keeping an eye on your work. I may in a position to build my own megashed towards the end of the year and you are doing a great job inspiring me.
Keep up the good work.

Cheers mate, the far right corner is really secure, i can climb on it and sit on the top and its not budging!!!

Wife says if i want, we can pick up the timber for the roof at end of the month, then i can get the roof on at least before TST!
Think am doing ok, as i am on my own doing it!

I'm pleased I'm not your neighbour ! Has anyone complained or owt ?

Nah, no ones complained, if anything they don't mind, besides it's within planning, plus, lucky we don't live near any miserable sods who complain about anything!

It just looks untidy as it gets built, once done, its gonna be tidyed up and blended in too!

Just takes time..........
