Buffalo Boiler Limescale

Hi All

Just bought a used 40l buffalo water boiler and it has limescale in it. Living in a soft water area and not used to limescale, what’s the best way of cleaning.

Citric acid powder (ebay) dissolved in boiling water. I use it to clean my kitchen kettle, iron, pans, bathroom taps etc. Works wonders and far more effective than vinegar that you often see recommended.

As Foxbat said, bulk citric acid on eBay is cheap.

Just leave to soak in hot ish water for as long as required.

Try 1 heaped table spoon per L.

If you have a wilko near you you can buy a box in the laundry section for a couple of quid. Just chuck the whole bos full in, its cheap

Aye, water @ +60*C and bang it in. If it is still PH 4 after cleaning, get brownie points and do the bathroom showers/taps with it!

Citric acid powder for ebay. Fill up with water add a few tablespoons of and walk away tomorrow it should be clean it's faster if you hear it.
