Sadly I don't, because I wouldn't mind giving it a blast myself, but

Oh god.....that could get messy
is usually roughly repeated by someone every time the topic arises on here and it gets left at that.

Have a search on here contrary to what has been said there has been a few useful threads. I think you need caffeine powder but not coffee as buckfast certainly doesn't taste of coffee.

Good luck

Just had a trawl on the search, no one gave a definite recipe that they'd tried. Lot of speculation though. Basic idea I picked up on was to make almost a weak port recipe, either adding proplus or coffee at some point, as well as vanilla extract (though whether before or after ferment was fairly split). Then backsweeten it. The fruit varied from grape juice/conc to elderberries to plums. And seeing as it's on most of the threads, you may find this useful.
Buckfast
Red wine based aperitif, 15% abv.
Sodium glycerophosphate, an emulsifier.
Dipotassium phosphate, a protein stabiliser
Disodium phosphate, a stabiliser and emulsifier.
Caffeine, 37.5 mg/100ml (i.e. 0.0375 % w/v)
Vanillin

Edit

Someone also pointed out that it is a fortified wine, so will probably need spirit added to get the flavour right, they suggested brandy which seems about right.

Not sure about coffee. Buckfast does have shedloads of caffeine in it but I don't think it is from coffee. I like my bucky warm, leave it on a radiator for half an hour, and obviously drink straight from the bottle....been a few years though.

You could try green tea? Loads more caffeine than coffee and shoudn't impart too much flavour?

proplus is a brand caffeine tablets. Some people said they tasted coffee, or similar in buckfast (I can't remember if I ever tasted coffee in there), so I thought I'd keep it in just in case

I've been pondering this for a while, I'm just not sure how to get it so thick and dark in colour! Was thinking of making a cheap red wine kit, adding a bunch of raisins and blackberries in secondary, vanilla extract (or pod), 36 or so pro plus to the gallon. Kill off yeast and add plenty of sugar, maybe some blended raisins for that Buckfast "body"... Remember to save the green bottles

Buckfast is my non-homebrew drink of choice, but not sure if I really like the taste enough to want to brew it. Would making a simple, nice fruit juice wine and then bunging loads of caffeine in to give the same effect, if not the taste?

Like port, buckfast is a fortified wine. Does this not mean that it's body comes from partially fermented must that then has high alcohol sprit added to it to inhibit the yeast? This would leave unfermented sugars which would add to body and sweetness.

I like mine cold, and I don't know a recipe for it but I'd say red grape, plum, vanilla and brandy would be a good starting point but it definitely does not have any coffee flavours in, so I'd stay clear of that for your caffeine source. It's quite the tipple is the old tonic wine ;-)

I tried a beer last week brewed by Elixir brew co in Livingston, its s Scotch ale infused with tablet and buckfast. you can get it from alesela but its only made in small batches. there was a hint of acidity from the wine I guess but no taste of actual buckfast or tablet, bit if a let down to be honest. I will be meeting one of the brewers tomorrow so I'll get on his back big style!

What is buckfast?

a high strength wine- this is from wiki

In Scotland, Buckfast is associated with drinkers who are prone to committing anti-social behaviour when drunk, especially drinkers under 18 years old. Its high strength (15% ABV/14.8% in the Republic of Ireland), relatively low price and sweetness are characteristics that are thought to appeal to underage drinkers.[4] The drink also has a very high caffeine content, with each 750ml bottle containing the equivalent of eight cans of cola!

all the bams sit on street corners drinking it!

You have to be a fairly flush binge Herbert to get anti social on it down my way. That stuff's getting on for ten quid down my local off licence. The local yoof tend to veer towards cherry lambrini or at a push, hand sanitiser nicked out of the bogs in the library.
