Evening all..

After my last attempt at this recipe and bring miffed that it didn't carb up nicely... I'm doing it again, exactly the same recipe but going to prime and bottle immediately after it gets down to SG 1.000.

My theory for the last one I made that didn't carb was that I left it too long to almost clear in the primary so there was not enough yeasties to get the fizz going.

The bits and bobs
16L Lidl vitafit AJ
3 x Lowicz strawberry (1 is for priming)
1L strong tea (5 bag), stewed for 15 mins
5tsp pectolase
1 pack cider yeast with sweetener

The how:
Tip in AJ
Tip in syrup
Add pectolase dissolved in some warm water
Add tea
Stir well
Sprinkle on yeast

Temp around 22deg
SG 1.040
Est abv when fermented out to 1.000 and including priming sugar = 5.97%

I can;t wait to try this. Love the idea of the Grolsh bottles for cider. I have 2 in the fridge at the moment in preparation.

Boom, bottled that bad boy tonight, batch primed with 400ml syrup (340g sugar)...

Nice and cloudy this time, not going to be flat this time I betcha 😤

I did the raspberry version of this a few weeks back. Its gone to firm bottles in under 3 days and is as fizzy as f....
I only put 300g of sugar in , didn't have syrup.
I've never had one carb up so quick !!
It has to be chilled right done before attempting opening !!
