Daughter brought me a selection of Brew York beers for Xmas.

I’d also been bought a selection of Punk dog.

Have to say - The Punk was pants in comparison .

The juicy IPA’s and sours from Brew York were phenomenal !

Young craft breweries are really beginning to kick these old dogs into touch me thinks.

Just to add to their awesomeness, they host our Homebrew Club in amongst their fermenters. I can't say enough good things about those guys and their little brewery. They were members of the homebrew club before they went pro and are so kind to us. It's great to see them succeeding.

I think Brew Dog were making really great beer years ago, when they were breaking new ground. But they've either went backwards as they became so big and commercial, or they've stagnated and other breweries are now breaking new ground.

I'll keep an eye out for Brew York beers.

I think it’s very much this, and it looks like they are happy to be the “middle ground” gateway brewery as well.

To be honest that strategy suits both them (£££££) and the consumer.

They widely are available, consistent and make decent beer but no longer make groundbreaking beer.

It’s good to be able to go into most pubs and manage to get “craft” beer, whereas in years gone by I’d have to settle for a mass produced “continental lager” or drink spirits.

Cannot believe I've not seen this place yet! I'm due a night out in York soon so will put this place on the list.

Absolutely. At my works Christmas night out I had 3 or 4 pints of bog standard lager, before I realised they had Punk IPA on tap. I was so grateful .

Had our annual Christmas shopping trip to York on the 23rd Dec. Started in the Station Tap, then

went to The House of Trembling Madness, Brew York was next, then picked up The Maltings on the way back to the station for the last train home. Had a quick one in town where I was marched to the door for using the "L" word. Can't remember much else. Next day found I had a large rip in my trousers and a cut on my leg, my back still hurts like hell.
I think I am too old to go with my sons now. I only go with them to make sure they are OK!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame on you I am guessing it was the L*g*r word?

I hear what y’all saying about the Dog being widely available and it’s a fair point when out in town.

I hope BY maintain their groundbreaking status and don’t let demand impact their craft.

Hats off to them, I’ve got about 3 local breweries (small) around me in Leicestershire and they just churn out bog standard Pale ale and Bitters. At a recent craft fair, one of them hailed themselves as craft brewers . Disappointing to to say the least !
