Brewing..
Drink less...
Else...
Get my dodgy back/recurring sacrolitis sorted out as it's starting to get me down...
Painting etc at home..
Sort garage and garden...complete mess!
Lose weight resume some sort of exercise.
Restart metal detecting.
Continue with my fishing to try and catch a carp over 29lb.
Try not to be too grumpy!

I brewed 2 x kits last year and they came out alright. I don’t want to walk before I can crawl so just carry on doing kits and perfecting them.

Maybe try my hand at doing some wine. All depends on the money situation etc

Whether they brew to to make cheap beer or because it is an enjoyable hobby or shades in between, near the top of every homebrewers to-do list should be be the resolution of giving their liver a regular rest from drinking. And for me that's not an annual dry January which is good for January and some of February but does nowt for the rest of the year, but a few days a week with those 'few days' being what makes you personally feel comfortable, given its your liver that will benefit, let alone your waistline.

agreed, I drink every week but I don't drink all week at least 2 out of 7 days booze free on a good week :laugh8: or 4 out of 7 days booze free on a bad week :(

I resolve to write things down properly. I must get better at record keeping so I know what's what. I have no idea of the strength of the beers I have at the moment, simply because I end up getting pissed and forgetting to write down the starting gravity.

I also mustn't get as drunk while brewing.

Now there's a thought. Ok. I mustn't get as wet while swimming. :hat:

I fully agree with this sentiment even though I studiously ignore it. Will aim for 2 beer-free days a week instead of two a year to ward off my namesake and recover the use of my fine collection of 32"-waist trousers. :beer1:

On the brewing front, I'd like to find my Holy Grail of the perfect best bitter. I'm coming to the conclusion that I really don't like crystal malt very much in the quantities many recipes prescribe.

Save to start Kegging around March.

Finish routing the water around the garage so it's more convenient.

Win the Euromillions and indulge in a life of idle luxury.

I have no fewer things to change for the better than anyone else but I generally address them as they come up so I have year-round resolutions.
Beer-wise? I can't think of much except maybe a few tweaks:
1. Use only mineral water and skip the tap water. I think that would be beneficial.
2. Use only DME. I would use LME but I can't guarantee the freshness.
3. Pay attention to aa and figure out the AAUs exactly for recipes. Currently, I do a lot of, "That should be fine," when I toss in an extra 1/4 ounce of this or that.
Life-wise?
I mirror much of what I see here but, as I said, it's an ongoing project year round.
Continual exercise is probably the one thing in life I don't have a problem with--hooray. This is the time of year the gym becomes clogged for 2-3 months with very nice, well-intentioned people who don't know the first thing about gym etiquette, how to exercise or how to use the equipment.
I was complaining about running shoe prices on this site recently but lo and behold, I scored a quality pair of Asics for under $80 (£61) including tax and delivery. Maybe I should have bought two pairs.
Happy New Year, everyone!

I'd like to bottle more beer, and actually enter a competition. Even if it's only a forum one. Want to get more feedback on my beer. Think family and friends might be being too kind.
Send it to me, Lawrence. I'll tell you how horrible it is and ask for another one to see if it's got any better.

Brew more small all grain batches to better understand the results. I think I enjoy the process as much as drinking it, so this way I get to brew more often.
Get an A4 file going as my little notebook is getting messy.
Make a grain crusher.
Solve the issue of hops blocking kettle filter.
Walk more and more regularly.
Try different beer styles out of my comfort zone.

Thoroughly agree with your first point. Making and trying out new recipes should only be limited by capacity to consume the product.

Make a grain crusher.
Why not just buy the grain ready milled?

Agreed. Also by making more smaller batches your walking will increase as you'll be up and down to the fridge like a blue arsed fly.
