eddie i think you may need a few more power points, i don't think you have enough

and i thought i had over done it with 6 doubles

bloody good shed though, i was thinking of a built one the missus made, you won't get any nioses and that was that, so the garage it remains

Having looked at shed prices recently I'm now thinking of buying a sectional garage and putting that up in the back garden. They seem to go for ~150 quid, problem being they have asbestos cement roofs..... Still I know how to deal with that if I have to and have access to the necessary PPE.

All I need now is someone daft enough to lend me a van to carry a load os asbestos in*...

*or a seller who'll agree to let me leave them the roof.

After a long chat with Mrs TRX I've ordered a 10'x8' shed for the brewery :D

It's cheaper than buying the wood to build one, and less hassle than having to deal with asbestos.

I plan on having a gravity feed setup at the back of the shed, HLT, mash tun, boiler and FV in order. When my tame electrician gets around to running the power into the shed then it'll have a 30 Amp + supply so I can run a couple of fridges as well as either a boiler or a HLT and the shed light all at the same time, without bursting into flames :D

The big plastic pots I get from work turned out to be the perfect thickness for a value kettle element, I only need one element for a HLT so fewer chances of a leak :)

The next important bit of kit will be a good padlock and somewhere to hide the key from Mrs TRX so she can't fill this shed with garden furniture like she has done the current one. Idea being we have one each, my brewery and my bike in the new shed, the garden furniture and other stuff in the old shed.

Never underestimate the power of ****. It can infiltrate even the most secure of mancaves.

One day it's clear, the next day you can hardly see inside the shed. floor to rafters filled with stuff.

It only needs a beachhead, a "I'll just pop this here for tonight".

Say NO to temporary storage or you too will have a man-1/3rd-cave where the other 2/3rds are filled with "I've got loads of room for this"

my man cave is about 8' by 16'. However, it's rammed with tools, benches, gardening gear, ladders, kids bikes, the brewery, one of my motorbikes and various other ****! I'm sure it could be better laid out if I emptied it and started again but I just don't have the time or the inclination to be honest! In it's defence it does have a lovely woodburner in there, although with the propane burner on full whack the woodburner isn't really required! Hopefully when we eventually sell the house and move I'll have a purpose built brewery separate from the man cave! Like the idea of a mini cellar, although I also like the thought of a concrete base with a gully in it for washing down.

Wassail!
Phil

Its filled up now with my other 'occupation'. But there are some 400-500 bottles of beer knocking about in various locations.
