I am new to brewing and i am going to do my first brew 1 gallon lager and 1 gallon beer red , I have a few questions that others could help me on , this is going to be a 1 gallon UK brew and i have powered yeast Lalbrew verdant , The recipe i have does not say how much to use, so is they a general amount of yeast i should use for 1 gallon for my beer and lager ? My other question is how much water should i include for the boil off?

A packet of yeast is good for 5 gallons, unless it's a very high alcohol beer. Your boil off rate will depend on your equipment. Mine is about 4.5 litres per hour.

Hello col222 and welcome to the forum. I've just started doing 5 litre brews so that I can experiment with different colour malts. I use a pot which holds 6 litres to the brim and I fill it to around 5 litres. I sparge another litre or so and bring that to the boil about 15 minutes before the end of the main boil and use it to top up to just over 5 litres as some of the wort stays behind in the hops. I use half a packet of dried yeast, about 5 grams, sprinkled directly on top of the cooled wort. Hope that helps.
