So, now I've bottled my apple and mango effort I had a spare demijohn, and after a short trip to the local supermarket I came back with some cartons of red grape, and a carton of blueberry juice that caught my eye.

So everything got cleaned and sterilized, at sat for some contact time with the sterilizing solution while I worked out how much sugar I'd need to add.

The grape juice had 39g of sugar per 250ml, making it 156g/l
The blueberry had 26.5g of sugar per 250ml, making 106g/l

So I figured I'd use litre of blueberry and 3.5l of red grape. That ment I'd have a sugar content of 652g for 4.5 litres. I wanted something 14-15% so I reckoned I'd need 1304g of sugar in 4.5lgiving me an addition of 652g to add

The sugar and 0.5l of grape juice went into a pan on the hob until dissolved. The rest of the juice was added to the demijohn along with a couple of tablets of yeast nutrient, a teaspoon of tannin and a wee bit of pectolase. The rest of the liquid was added had it cooled and it was given a good shake before adding the yeast dry. An airlock was fitted and it was put in the corner. I'll check it in a couple of weeks

Morrison's perchance? I picked some up for a cider too. The colour and taste have remained behind after recently finishing fermenting, looks amazing. Hope it goes well dude!

Close, but no cigar! It was my local tesco mate :) Thanks for the info, I am hoping the blueberry will add a wee bit of extra body and flavor, after my first few lacked a bit of punch IMO.

I have something similar on the go, started about three weeks ago. 1 litre Tesco Blueberry Juice Drink made up to full volume with Tesco RGJ. According to my notes I added 250g sugar, aiming for the 10-12% range.

I've just put on a blueberry WOW following the recipe for the orange WOW and hoping for a nice rose. I do like the sound of your one though so when I have a spare DJ I maybe (attempting) to make it!

Cheers lads, will keep the updates going to see how it turns out. It started off like a rocket, with a good amount of foam, and now blooping away at 3bps still, though the foam had now dissapeared.

Just racked this one, almost one month to the day since I set it going. It's still slowly fermenting. A bit rough at the moment.

I did something almost exactly as you described. Initially it was very sharp but after a couple of months it turned into a very smooth rose that the mother in law liked (+ others less fussy....). As such I then went on to make two gallons and if thats as nice I will ramp up to five. I only use 1L of red grape juice though and more sugar as per the original WOW recipie.
May try a full grape + another juice following your suggestion.

I bottled this a few weekends back. Ended up stopping it short and having it as a sweet wine. Its quite plesant and my misus favourite so far!

I am just drinking this at the moment. Not sure of the actual alcohol content but is stronger than the others I have made. I think it must be approx 13% I started it in DJ then topped it up. I followed the normal Wow recipe but used 1kg of sugar instead of the 800gms. My others using the 800gms are not strong.

I need to know how to work out how much sugar to add to a recipe to get an average of 12.5 abv.

Ok mate, sorry it's taken so long to reply.

Personally I just do it roughly by the total sugar content. To get an accurate figuire you will need to roughly calculate how much sugar is in the must, so look at how much sugar there is in the juice, and use a table to estimate how much you need to add. You may need to compensate if you ferment out to 0.990, personally I use an app on my phone
