Just gathering kit to put together a 15 ltr brew kettle.
So, I'll be boiling about 10 ltr batches in this.
Was thinking of a single kettle element (2.2Kw). Is this enough heat to get a good rolling boil?

Bye the way, this is first post. Hiya everyone. :)

Yes. You will be fine with a single 2.2kw.

Not sure about the headspace in a 15l pot though. To make 10l batches will have an amount of boil off, so I would imagine needing v close to 15l to start.

You should still get a 10 l batch providing you don't go over 13l in the pot and are quick at hand with a spray bottle.Ive used one for a few months and using different methods from concentrated wort, dunk sparging and partial mashing you can still achieve a 20/23 batch.Just depends on how creative you feel.👍

I've had my 30L Ace boiler for a couple of years now - it has a 1.5Kw element and produces a totally violent rolling boil. Just saying...
So if you've got a bigger element in a smaller pot, just make sure you've got some way of turning the current down.
