Went to a gaff in the city that sold Belgian beers, and had the pleasure of trying banana beer.

Quickly looked at the ingredients and thought I'd give it a whirl. Never made a "beer" before, so some advice would be appreciated.

Ingredients put it as a wheat beer, with 20% banana juice.

So:

(As one gallon)

500g wheat
500g brewing sugar
XXg malt
500ml banana juice / 1l banana juice
Yeast and Marmite.

What's the thinking there? Would I be advised to try adding some barley, what kind of dimension would this add to the finished product ( fruitier, richer, smellier??)

This is in idea form at the moment... So any tweaking would be much appreciated... I want this to be a good brew!!

Also... All I gots are a couple of pots and some demis (a basic brew setup). Do I need any fancy gear to get this going?

if just doing a gallon i would stick to extract for all the aggro,-saves getting a thermometer for the mash
maybe buy a 4kg tub of weissbeer extract from the maltmiller- could get a proper yeast from him aswell and the hops and cheap liquid extract for future brews, maybe some carapils or something for steeping?
if want a cheap yeast mauribrews weiss yeast is well recommended, should add to the banana kick

I was planning on going in strong with 23l... Just using those measurements because my brain doesn't handle maths too well...

I could just soak this bad boy and boil it up in a big pot no?
