With three demi-johns going bananas in the walk-in brew cupboard (aka airing cupboard) I thought I'd better actually do some research before doing the next lot... Just hoping the lack of campden tablet before the yeast went in isn't going to cause a lot of cursing.
As background I've brewed as a teenager years ago (beer kits) and used to help out my dad with his fruit wines so know most of the basic steps but not necessarily in the right order...
The freezer had too much soft fruit in it so I decided to do an Autumn Harvest of bullaces, sloes, blackberries, blackcurrants and supplemented it with fresher blackberries and about 8 elderberries (mine in the garden have gone over.)
I've also just discovered some hops growing in the front hedge, so am thinking of picking those for a beer brew. Might be worth a go - more in hope than expectation because goodness knows what it'll be like.
I do have a 'top tap' pressure barrel but apart from 2 kit beers in the last 18 months I've only really had left overs from a beer festival in it...
