sorry to jump in

so is this bh1 just sugar with a fancy name I was under the impression it was
was a bit more than that does it not promote body and head retention

It's a mix of malt extract and brewing sugar, but both are ferment able so will have roughly the same effect on the strength as sugar, but the malt leaves a little behind which gives the better head, flavour and mouthfeel. :thumb:

Never used it before and I've got a lager that I used sugar in so I'm interested to see the difference.

adds malty flavour head retention body and mouthfeel
I won't brew without it
sugar just thins out your beer and adds strength its the cheaper version
you brew to your means

Brew enhancer 1 - spray malt ( DME )/dextrose
Brew enhancer 2 - spray malt/dextrose/maltodextrin

Not sure how much of each is in which box but the maltedxtrin in the enhancer 2 does nowt apart from mouthfeel and head, a bit like steeping some crystal malt.
If your using the coopers kit enhancers you coud just buy malt extract ( DME ) from the site sponsor above for the same price.

Brew Enhancer 1 has no spray malt (DME) at all ..... it's just dextrose and maltodextrin.

I've two Coopers Lager kits in the FVs I did one with 1kg dextrose and one with 500g of dextrose and 500g of extra light spray malt.
Both were brewed to 23 litres and the yeast was pitched at the same temps with the Coopers supplied yeast.
That's where the similarities end - as far as fermentation goes.
The dextrose batch went off pretty quietly, a small inch and half of foam for a few days. The 1/2 spray malt batch has almost blown the bloody lid off (said in a Michael Caine Italian Job stylee voice).
Time will tell the taste difference but I imagine the extra 8p per pint beer (that's the difference at 23 litres the spray malt makes) will be a fuller drink, how relevant that is in the case of standard house lager I'm not altogether sure.
