Congratulations! I get the impression the standard was very high so that's a superb achievement. My Oktoberness won the dark lagers! Chuffed to bits!!!
Same here. Not the best time to enter your first competition…..Yeah, and 2 of my 3 entries were in those categories. I’ll know better for next year!
I saw that! Well done!My Oktoberness won the dark lagers! Chuffed to bits!!!
What would be a decent score?
30+ and you’d be doing very well. What would be a decent score?
Best in Show was a cream ale though, which is a surprise.I didn't have a horse in the race but interesting to see some of the groupings.
Stronger beers within every style do better at comps, as pretty much every Means Brew video demonstrates (regardless of whether those strengths are actually within the guidelines).
So no surprise to see FES and Imperial Stouts form the 3 winners in the combined British, Irish, and Imperial Stout table.

We will have to wait shortly… ahem.. for the scores….30+ and you’d be doing very well.
The winners of the BrewCon World Series V are now up on the competition website.
We'll be scanning and loading scores + scoresheets up category by category over the next couple of weeks.
'BEST BEER OF BREWCON' was a stunning Cream Ale co-brewed by Matthew Perks + Dan Turner.
2nd place was a show stopping Foreign Extra Stout by Garreth Oakes...
who also won 3rd place with his perfectly balanced American Amber Ale.
Garreth picks up 'WORLD SERIES CHAMPION BREWER' for his efforts, just ahead of James Pettifor, who also won two golds.
Prizes -
Matt and Dan will be flying down to Falmouth courtesy of LAUTER Bottleshop + Brewspace for a Brewday with Pipelinebrewco + a very beery weekend around Cornwall!
Garreth wins a spectacular G70 courtesy of Grainfather plus a brewday at Elusive Brewing courtesy of Andy Parker!
There will be more prizes for category winners + of course suitably lovely rosettes coming out soon.

Well done. I like a dark lager and would be interested in the recipe! My Oktoberness won the dark lagers! Chuffed to bits!!!
Scores should be easy to update...its simply a case of typing in the score into the appropriate field. If 1st/2nd/3rd places have been entered then scores could easily have been done as well.Sounds like there'll be a bit more of a wait for individual scores and feedback:
Well done!!!Not as impressive as most. But I managed a cheeky third in category
Yes, I was very surprised at that too.
Edit - in a good way!
It was essentially the Courage Best recipe from the Wheeler book.... not a patch on the way it used to come up at The Ship thoughAn excellent name for the European Brown Ales table winner:
Four Or Five Pints At The Ship On A Sunday Before Heading Home For Mum's Roast, Circa 1994
