I’m also being a bit optimistic, not even brewed the RIS yet. Hope it has time to mellow out before the competition.

For a bit of fun, make throw an entry in, possibly my RIS. But how do they define it as such? Is there requirements for beer types?

You have to say which BJCP category your beer comes under, and they judge against that definition of the style.

How do you know you have brewed a RIS which I assume is a Russian Imperial Stout?

Yeah I've had issues with UPS in the past. Sent mine by parcel force on Monday, got there Wednesday, and the kind lady in the post office put me onto a loyalty card that gets you something like 20% off every parcel you send. Cost me just over a tenner to send a chunky weighty box all the way from Perth to London which seems decent to me.
