funny you should say that as I forgot to put the hop strainer in the boiler. 
After it cooled I heavily sterilised my arm and went it. A massive risk but hey ho. I did microbiology at uni and my sterile technique was always good. I scrubbed up like a surgeon

my first didnt go well tho. thermometer broke and i mashed too high giving a very sweet and low alcohol beer, it is aging better tho and has a lot of flavour.
2nd was good, a pale that is nearly finished, nothing major wrong there,
3rd on its 9th day in fv and looking good.
